Flamingo Park’s 26th Holiday Historic Home Tour is rapidly approaching.
The (mostly) annual December tour, chaired this year by Barbara Marshall and Elizabeth Crippen, is an important fundraiser for the Flamingo Park Neighborhood Association, which contributes a great deal to the upkeep of the neighborhood’s public areas and holds activities year-round to bring residents together.
Many volunteers are needed to carry off this wonderful event, starting with getting the neighborhood’s 30-plus vintage-style sign poles decorated with outdoor bows.
In addition there are cookie bakers, lenders of tables and coolers, sign posters and ticket sellers. People to pick up and deliver food, ice and drinks and to set up, tear down and clean up.
The board thanks everyone who has helped over the years with these and other critical tasks and encourages all residents to get involved.
If you have not volunteered, it’s a great way to contribute to the neighborhood, and meet some nice people (like yourselves!) in the process.
President Linda Cullen is the volunteer coordinator.
